FAQ
Straight answers to the questions North Port parents ask most.
About 15 minutes of hands-on instruction with a coach, plus a short game-plan chat afterward. Wear athletic clothes - there is nothing to buy and no obligation to continue.
No. Most students start with zero experience. Classes are grouped by age and rank, and instructors give beginners their own targets so the first class feels doable, not overwhelming.
Just athletic clothes and a water bottle. We train barefoot on the mats, and there is no uniform or gear to buy before you decide to enroll.
Pick your program on this site, tell us a little about your child, then choose a day and time that works. You will get a confirmation right away, and we will have everything ready when you arrive.
Here is what we work on in a typical week.
Some kids jump right in. Others watch for a while. We give them time to learn the room, meet the instructors, and find their footing.
It can look like speaking up, trying again after a mistake, or staying with a difficult drill instead of giving up.

The team at Transform Martial Arts is truly exceptional. My son has been enrolled for the past few years, and the transformation we've seen in him has been nothing short of remarkable. His focus, behavior, and leadership skills have improved significantly, and much of that growth can be directly attributed to the structured training and mentorship he receives here.
My child loves Transform Martial Arts! The instructors are amazing - patient, professional, and great with kids. We've seen big improvements in confidence, focus, and discipline.
We absolutely love this place! Transform is a GREAT school! Not only did we see results within a short time, the coaches all have great interaction with the kids. Definitely recommend Transform 10/10.

More than martial arts
Taekwondo is what we teach. We also help kids listen, stick with hard things, and treat people well.
Some kids arrive ready to jump in. Others need a few minutes to watch. We make room for both, then help each student build confidence through practice - one class and one belt at a time.
Nobody here teaches off a belt they earned ten years ago. Our instructors are on the mat learning every week, and they get coached on how to teach kids, not just how to kick. That is who your child spends their class with.
Some of our students travel to ATA events and come home with medals. Most never compete at all, and they get the exact same coaching. Tournaments are an option here, never the price of admission.
New kids get paired with someone patient. Shy kids get a job to do. We push a little past what a student thinks they can do, and we do not embarrass anyone to get there.
Classes are grouped by age and experience, so your child can learn at a pace that feels right.

Belts mark progress, but the everyday changes matter too. Here is what families tell us they notice at home, at school, and on the mat.
Some kids walk in bouncing off the walls, ready to try everything. Others hold onto a parent's hand and want to watch first. Both are welcome.
We give students time to learn the room, meet the instructors, and try the basics. A stance held a second longer or a first board broken can be a big deal when it is their first week.
Over time, they begin to know what to expect. They ask questions, try again after mistakes, and start helping newer students.
Small wins on the mat can make it easier to speak up, handle frustration, and keep trying at home and at school.
Our competition athletes train for the mat and the moment - sparring rounds, forms breakdowns, film review, and the kind of conditioning that teaches you what you can handle. That work has taken Transform students to state, national, and world-level podiums.
But the medals aren't the lesson. The lesson is the loss that came before them: the round that got away, the form that fell apart under pressure, the choice to come back to practice on Monday anyway.
Competition is optional. The useful part is learning to handle a tough round, listen to feedback, and come back ready to work.

Inside the class
The class has a familiar rhythm. Kids know what comes next, and parents know what they are walking into.
We start moving right away. The goal is to get everyone warm, focused, and ready to learn.
A short lesson on respect, focus, or perseverance is part of every class.
We work on one main skill, then repeat it until it starts to feel natural.
Forms build balance, memory, and control.
We alternate sparring and weapons from day to day. Partner work is controlled and coached the whole time.
Classes run 30 minutes, so students stay engaged the entire time and leave tired, smiling, and proud.
A familiar routine helps kids settle in. The instructors adjust the work to the age and experience of the group, but the basic rhythm stays the same.
What the first 90 days look like
The first few months are different for every child. Here is a realistic idea of what many families notice.
What you'll notice: they stop asking if they have to go.
What you'll notice: they volunteer to go first.
What you may notice: they start talking about class on the way home.
Progress over perfection. Ninety days is all it takes to see it.
